STAFF RECOMMENDATION

 

Recommendation

Take the following actions:

1)  Approve the request from the citizens of the Vaughn Community from Stockton, Alabama, to use County Road 21, Bryant’s Landing Road and Vaughn Circle for their Annual Christmas parade on Saturday, December 19, 2020, beginning at 1:00 p.m.; and

2)  Authorize the Baldwin County Highway Department, Traffic Control Division, to provide the necessary barricades for the event.

The Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office will provide the necessary security for the event.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

 

Previous Commission action/date:

 

Staff received correspondence from Ms. Wanda Gandy, on November 4, 2020, requesting permission to use County Roads for the Vaughn Community Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 19, 2020. The parade will begin at 1:00 p.m. at the Vaughn Elementary School, travel down County Road 21, turning left onto Bryant’s Landing Road, travel to the Landing where the parade will turn around and return on Bryant’s Landing Road, to Vaughn Circle, turn right, and end at Vaughn Elementary School.
