STAFF RECOMMENDATION

Recommendation

Take the following actions:

 

1) Approve the sale of the following vehicle on GovDeals.com through the Clerk/Treasurer:

 

                     2007 Mercury Grand Marquis VIN# 2MEFM75V77X620804 (88,213 Miles)

 

2) Authorize funds from the sale of the vehicle to be deposited into the General Fund.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

 

Previous Commission action/date:  N/A

 

Background:   2007 Mercury Grand Marquis used by custodians at Fairhope Courthouse (VIN# 2MEFM75V77X620804) needs engine repair. The vehicle has had several repairs over the last year. The estimate to repair the engine exceeds the value of the vehicle. Because the vehicle has been removed from service, it is recommended it be offered for sale on GovDeals.com in “where is, as is” condition with no warranty (expressed or implied) included.

 Makayla Shiver will coordinate the auctioning of the vehicle thru Govdeals.com.

 

Michelle Howard will provide required documentation to accounting for the auction and will prepare the vehicle for auction, pick up, and show the vehicle to bidders upon bidder’s request at the Baldwin County Commission Office.
