STAFF RECOMMENDATION

Recommendation

Take the following actions:

 

1)  Adopt Resolution #2021-043, which amends Resolution #2017-036, for the purpose of transferring approval authority for the naming of streets to the Baldwin County Emergency Communication District (E911) and the Baldwin County Highway Department; and

 

2)  Adopt the revised Baldwin County Commission Policy #4.3 - Road Name Policy and incorporate the revised policy into the Baldwin County Policies and Procedures Book.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

 

Previous Commission action/date:  Resolution #2017-036 was adopted on 12/06/2016 and Policy #4.3 was most recently adopted on 03/17/2009.

 

Background:  Currently, the Baldwin County Building Inspection Department is responsible for naming roads. Resolution #2021-043 provides that E911 will assume the responsibility for naming roads with the consent of the County Engineer.
