STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Recommendation
Approve the following Amendments to the Emergency Rental Assistance Program Guidelines:
1) Amendment #1: Payments made directly to renters when landlords refuse to participate.
2) Amendment #2: Include utilities, late fees, relocation expenses, and reconnection fees.
3) Amendment #3: Revise program deadline to September 30, 2022; and application submission deadline to June 10, 2022.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Previous Commission action/date: Reason for Replacement Agenda Item: Staff Recommendation was updated to reflect the specific amendments to the Emergency Rental Assistance Program Guidelines.
March 25, 2021 - The Baldwin County Commission approved the Emergency Rental Assistance Program Guidelines
Background: Wayne Dyess, County Administrator, signed the forms per the Agreement from the U.S. Department of the Treasury as the local government Chief Executive Officer and the documents were submitted electronically to the U.S. Department of the Treasury on January 12, 2021, by staff. This Agreement was executed and submitted prior to Commission approval due to time constraints and submission deadline of January 12, 2021. The Commission approved the fund allocation on January 19, 2021. The Commission held a Special Meeting on March 25, 2021, that approved the Emergency Rental Assistance Program Guidelines for Baldwin County.
