BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Previous Commission action/date:  N/A

Background:  The Commission approved during the July 6, 2021 meeting to budget $6,600,000.00 American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds to design, construct, and purchase equipment for a new recycling facility to be located adjacent to the Magnolia Landfill. The Baldwin County Material Recovery Facility Project’s principal purpose is to provide a long-term solution for the recycling needs of Baldwin County, its resident Municipalities, and local businesses. Project objectives also include utilizing locally available sources to fund the development and construction of the project.

The Development and Environmental Director, Terri Graham, has requested that the attached RFQ for engineering / environmental / design services be advertised. Staff recommends the Commission approve the RFQ and authorize the Purchasing Director to advertise it.
