STAFF RECOMMENDATION

Recommendation

Related to the Baldwin County Fiscal Year 2021 Budget, take the following actions:

 

1)  Adopt Resolution #2021-131 of the Baldwin County Commission which amends the Baldwin County Fiscal Year 2021 Budget (Baldwin County Emergency Management Agency Capital Purchase); and

 

2)  Authorize the Purchasing Director to purchase a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 4WD Crew Cab Work Truck for an estimated replacement cost of $32,000.00; and

 

3)  Authorize the Chairman to execute the Power of Attorney for Vehicle Transactions and Sworn Statement in Proof of Loss for 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

 

Previous Commission action/date:  N/A

 

Background:  A 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe VIN #1GNLC2EC9FR675716 was damaged in the Orange Beach hailstorm on 04/10/2021 and was subsequently declared a total loss by the ACCA Liability Self-Insurance Fund, Inc.

 

Estimated replacement cost of the vehicle is $32,000.00.  ACCA Liability Self-Insurance Fund, Inc. has issued an offer for total loss in the amount of $20,475.00.  BCEMA is requesting a budget adjustment cover the difference between the insurance offer and cost of a new vehicle.

 

BCEMA is requesting an estimated $4,475.00 for the purpose of:

 

1)  Purchasing operational vehicle accessories

2)  Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office labor/material costs for installation

 

FINANCIAL IMPACT

 

Total cost of recommendation:  $36,475.00
