STAFF RECOMMENDATION

Recommendation

Take the following actions:

1)  Award the bid to the lowest bidder, T & K Construction, LLC, in the amount of $717,349.40; Completion Time: 60 days after Notice to Proceed for the expansion of Magnolia Landfill Gas System - Phase IV and authorize the Chairman to execute the Contract; and

2)  Authorize the Chairman to execute any project related documents.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

 

Previous Commission action/date: 

08/03/3021 meeting: Authorized the Purchasing Director and Engineer to place a competitive bid for the Expansion of the Baldwin County Magnolia Landfill Gas System Phase 4 located in Summerdale.

 

Background:  Bids were opened in the Purchasing Conference Room on

September 8, 2021, at 10:00 A.M.  Three (3) bids were received.  T & K Construction, LLC, submitted the lowest bid in the amount of $717,349.40 with a completion time of 60 days after the notice to proceed for the expansion of the Magnolia Landfill Gas System - Phase IV.  The Engineer CDG Engineers & Associates, Inc., Daniel Wells, has reviewed the bid responses and has submitted the certified Bid Tabulation and a letter recommending that the bid be awarded to the lowest bidder, T & K Construction, LLC. Bid Tabulation attached.

 

The Commission budgeted $600,000.00 for this project during the FY21 budget.  The remaining $117,349.40 needed to award this project will come from Solid Waste Fund Balance.

Total cost of recommendation:  $717,349.40

 

Budget line item(s) to be used:  51054300.55240
