Recommendation
Take the following action:
1) Adopt Resolution #2022-011 authorizing an appropriation of $23,400.00 from the Historic Parks Funds to Bicentennial Park for the Christmas at Bicentennial Park Event December 17-18, 2021, with said appropriation/expenditure to include:
$10,400.00 - underground electrical outlets
$5,500.00 - Power Productions to provide production, lighting, sound, stage, and 24’ movie screen
$7,500.00 - other event supplies and expenses; and
2) Approve the Building Maintenance Department to provide all electrical work associated to the electrical outlets.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Previous Commission action/date: BCC Regular Meeting - February 2, 2021
Background: Baldwin County Commission during its regularly scheduled meeting approved the Baldwin County Department of Archives and History staff to host an on-site, off-site, and non-standard hours events to include Christmas at Baldwin County Bicentennial Park on Friday and Saturday, December 17 and 18, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. -9:00 p.m.
Effective October 1, 2019, Act #2019-338 allows for expenditures for historic sites in Baldwin County as follows: At least ten percent shall be expended for the Historic Blakeley Authority and up to two (2) percent shall be expended for other historic sites in
Baldwin County for the preservation, restoration, and interpretation of the site.
The full cost of the electrical outlets is $20,793.78. To offset some of the cost, we have secured a corporate sponsor to cover half of the cost of the electrical outlets in the amount of $10,396.89.
Outreach projects hosted by the Department of Archives and History are to engage residents and visitors in educational programs and community activities that educate, inspire, and entertain.
