Previous Commission action/date:
09/07/2021 meeting: Approved the attached Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for Engineering/Environmental/Design Services for a new recycling facility to be located adjacent to the Magnolia Landfill and authorized the Purchasing Director to advertise the Request for Qualifications (RFQ).
Background: The Request for Qualifications for Engineering/Environmental/Design Services for a new recycling facility to be located adjacent to the Magnolia Landfill was received on October 11, 2021, at 2:00 P.M., in the Baldwin County Purchasing Department. Three (3) firms submitted a proposal. The evaluation committee consisted of Terri Graham, Ed Fox, Ron Cink, Wesley Pate, Ashley Campbell, and Wanda Gautney. After reviewing and grading the three (3) firms. The committee feels that LaBella Associates, meets the requirements for this project. Staff recommends the Baldwin County Commission authorize staff to begin negotiations with LaBella Associates, so a final award recommendation can be made to the Baldwin County Commission regarding the engineering/environmental/design services for this project.
The Commission approved during the July 6, 2021, meeting to budget $6,600,000.00 American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds to design, construct, and purchase equipment for a new recycling facility to be located adjacent to the Magnolia Landfill.
