Adopt Proclamation / Declaration of a Termination and Lifting of a State of Local Emergency terminating and lifting a Declaration of a State of Local Emergency in regard to Hurricane Ida, effective November 2, 2021, at 9:00 a.m.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

 

Previous Commission action/date:  August 27, 2021, BCC Emergency Special Meeting

 

Background: On Friday, August 27, 2021, the Commission adopted a Declaration of a State of Local Emergency related to impending inclement weather (Hurricane Ida), commencement of said declaration being contingent upon and coinciding with a Declaration of a State of Emergency by the Governor of the State of Alabama.

 

Governor Kay Ivey declared a state of emergency on Saturday, August 28, 2021, effective at 2:00 p.m.

 

At this time, Zach Hood, EMA Director, recommends the termination of the State of Local Emergency as relates to Hurricane Ida.
