BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Previous Commission action/date: October 6, 2020 - Last space allocation at Central Annex.
Background:
At the request of staff, designate space for the Probate Office, Planning and Zoning and Building Inspection Departments and adopt the attached resolution which changes the space allocation for the Central Annex Building.
According to Alabama General Law and Baldwin County Local Law, as recited in the attached resolution, the Baldwin County Commission has the sole authority to locate the courts and designate the office space to be utilized by the various county officers and / or offices at all Baldwin County Commission facilities.
On October 19, 2021, the BCC approved a lease agreement on a new location in Loxley, Alabama for the Baldwin County Library Cooperative.
In April 2022, the Planning and Zoning and Building Departments relocated to the space in Central Annex previously occupied by the Library Cooperative.
The Revenue Commission (Appraisal) Office relocated from Central Annex to another facility in May 2022.
The Planning and Zoning Department will occupy the space previously utilized by the Revenue Commission Appraisal Office.
The Probate Office will expand to occupy the space at Central Annex previously occupied by the Planning and Zoning Department.
Resolution #2022-098 would update the space allocation to reflect these changes.
The last space allocation change for the Baldwin County Central Annex Building in Robertsdale was approved by Resolution #2021-005, adopted on October 6, 2020. The proposed Resolution #2022-098 would repeal Resolution #2021-005.
