BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Background:  The Office of the Coroner is requesting a grant through the National Network of Public Health Institutes (NNPHI) for the implementation of a new case management system which will reduce our office supply cost and increase our ability to share information between County and State agencies, such as ADPH.  In addition, the implementation of this case management system will help create many streamlined efficiencies concerning, but not limited to, office workflow, reporting of cases by other police agencies and ER departments, allowing supervisor oversight in real time and proper assignment of resources for various types of responses.  Ultimately, with better workflow, response strategy and timely case completion, families of the decedent will benefit from an improved timeline supporting accurate determination of cause and manner of death.  The County will benefit with cost savings due to improved efficiencies and reduced supply needs.  This grant would offset cost of an ongoing report platform project and allow for necessary upgrades to office workflow.
