STAFF RECOMMENDATION

Recommendation

Approve the requested road closure for the Optimist Club of Perdido Bay 31st Annual Christmas Parade in Lillian, Alabama on Saturday, December 10, 2022, beginning at 12:45 p.m. until 2:15 p.m. The parade will start at 1:00 p.m. at the Corner of U.S. Highway 98 & Perdido Street, proceeding to U.S. Highway 98 & County Road 99. The parade route is 1 ¼ miles long and will take approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes to complete.

The Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office and the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, Highway Patrol Division, will assist with road closure and the detouring of traffic for the parade.

Background:  Certificate of Liability Insurance forthcoming.

Staff received a request from David W. Randall, Vice President of The Optimist Club of Perdido Bay, to hold the 31st Annual Christmas Parade in Lillian, Alabama on Saturday, December 10, 2022, beginning at 1:00 p.m. The parade will require the closing of certain county roads and the detouring of traffic.
