STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Recommendation
Award Bid #WG23-32 to the lowest bidder, Sun Coast Builders, Inc., for the Purchase and Installation of one (1) new 40 ft. X 132 ft. X 18 ft. Metal Building for the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office located in Robertsdale, Alabama, per the award listing and authorize the Chairman to execute the contract.
Contract is effective for 120 days after the Notice to Proceed is issued.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Background: Bids were opened in the Purchasing Conference Room on May 3, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. Six (6) bids were received. Staff recommends the Commission award the lowest bidder, Sun Coast Builders, Inc., for the purchase and installation of one (1) new 40 ft. X 132 ft. X 18 ft. Metal Building for the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office located in Robertsdale, Alabama, in the bid amount of $126,954.00 and have the Chairman execute the Contract. The Commission budgeted $75,000.00 during FY2023 for the construction of this building. The Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office has agreed to pay the Commission the remaining funding of $51,954.00 needed to complete this project. Bid Tabulation attached for review.

04/04/2023 Meeting: Approved the specifications and authorized the Purchasing Director to place a competitive bid for the Purchase and Installation of One (1) New 40 ft. X 132 ft. X 18 ft. Metal Building for the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Department located in Robertsdale, Alabama; and further, authorized the Chairman/Purchasing Division Commissioner for the Baldwin County Commission to approve any necessary addendums or clarifications if required after the bid was advertised.
