Recommendation
Accept the notice of termination from the City of Bay Minette and terminate the Lease Agreement between the Baldwin County Commission and the City of Bay Minette for the Bay Minette Police Department Complex, located at 300 North Hoyle Avenue, said termination effective April 16, 2024. End
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Background: On March 7, 2024, staff received notification from the City of Bay Minette that it would be vacating the Bay Minette Police Department Complex as of March 29, 2024. Staff recommends the Commission approve the termination of the lease agreement between the City and the County, approved during the August 18, 2020, BCC Regular meeting (Agenda Item BA3).
Previous Commission action/date:
June 20, 2023, BCC Regular Meeting - As requested by the City of Bay Minette, approved the second extension term of the lease agreement for a period of one (1) year from August 24, 2023, to August 23, 2024.
June 21, 2022, BCC Regular Meeting - As requested by the City of Bay Minette, approved the first extension term of the lease agreement for a period of one (1) year, from August 24, 2022, to August 23, 2023.
August 18, 2020, BCC Regular Meeting - Approved and authorized the execution of a Lease Agreement between the City of Bay Minette and the Baldwin County Commission for the Bay Minette Police Department to lease and occupy the Bay Minette Police Department Complex, commencing on August 24, 2020, and expiring August 23, 2022.
July 7, 2020, BCC Regular Meeting - Approved and authorized the Chairman to execute the Purchase Agreement between the Baldwin County Commission and the City of Bay Minette, in the amount of $895,000.00 for the Bay Minette Police Department Complex, located at 300 North Hoyle Avenue, Bay Minette, Alabama.
